A: Many home care services are covered by the major insurance companies including Medicare and Medicaid. But, as you can imagine, it depends upon the carrier and coverage. Our staff would be happy to explore whether or not home care is covered by your insurance.

Q: What criteria are required for Medicare to approve home care services?

A: The following criteria are used to meet Medicare requirements:
• The patient is a Medicare recipient.
• The patient must be homebound. This is defined by Medicare as “normal inability to leave the home and that leaving the home requires considerable and taxing effort.”
• Skilled home care must be medically necessary as determined by the physician.

Q: What if I have a problem at night or on the weekend?

A: We can provide homecare services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It simply depends upon the needs of your loved one.

Q: Do I need a physician’s order for home health care?

 No. Our home care services are not medical, so no physician orders are necessary.
